what is this white stuff?

when we were driving to Taos, we came across this stuff on the top of the mountain. I asked momma to stop so we could go investigate. I wanted to jump out of the car but she said I may want to put my sweater on first. imagine my surprise when i discovered that it's this white fluffy stuff that's really cold. hmmmm...


other than being kind of cold and wet, it's not too bad.


hey, what's that? i hear something under there. could there be little critters living underneath this cold stuff?
