a year in the life...

it's been almost a year now since lucie came into my life so i thought it would be fun to put together my favorite photos from 2009. so here's a year in the life of hawthorne girl and lulu. i look forward to continuing our adventures in 2010 and sharing them with you here on lucie sees.


this is the first photo i took of lucie after i brought her home. already posing for the camera!


so of course the next day i tried to stage our first photo shoot. she was more interested in her chewy, though.


shortly after she came to us, we took a trip to the beach. here she and i are posing at rogue brewery in astoria, oregon.


here she and daddy pose in astoria. we discovered at the beach that she is a true water dog. she immediately ran into the water to chase the seagulls. i was too busy running after her to get a shot of this.


after the beach trip we played dress up. lucie wasn't too happy with playing the part of the gypsy.


it took a little while before lucie could sit next to willie without torturing him. now willie simply "tolerates" her.


a few months after we adopted lucie, we found her best friend roy. they are inseparable now.


i emailed this shot to one of my favorite blogs desire to inspire where they featured it in their pets on furniture post.


then this one followed up on desire to inspire, noting that she may quite possibly no longer be a pet on furniture (yeah right!).


in the spring we went to a doggie cocktail party. there were lots of pooped pooches, including lulu.


here is the first of many striped sweaters that are sure to be in her future. so cute!


and of course there was an emergency doctor visit late at night when we thought she had scratched her eye playing with roy. turned out she was just fine, thank goodness.


i don't know if it's the fact that this kitty looks like willie but it's lucie's favorite toy.


she even likes to sleep with it.

her first time in the snow outside of taos, new mexico. looks like a great photo for next year's holiday card.
