my cousins

These are my cousins, they live in New Mexico. I haven't met them yet but I can't wait to see them in December. I think we will get along great and they have a really big yard we can play in.


This is Nina. She likes to run around the yard and chase critters, especially cats. I like her already!


This is Boris. He's more of a homebody and likes to stay inside with his mom and dad. His favorite thing is to lay on his blanket and cuddle with his stuffed animals. I think that's cute!

my friends

I know you have already met my best friend, Roy and my brother Willie but here are some more of my friends that I think are pretty cool.


This is Soy and she is Roy's sister. She's not so bad for a cat. I try to chase her around sometimes but she just walks away like she can't be bothered. Roy and her get along pretty well, though. Much better than Willie and I do!


And this is another friend, Wiley. When my momma met Wiley, she liked her so much that she decided to adopt a doggie for herself and that is how I came in to her life. I think Wiley is pretty cute too!


And this is Wiley's brother Sketch. Sketch is pretty funny and cute. I think he wishes he was an only child, though. He's got a lot of brother and sisters!

Sometimes momma and daddy act silly and this time they thought it would be funny to dress me up. I can't decide if I look more like a gypsy or a panda! What do you think?

It's ok if you want to post today, momma. It is so hot out that I thought I would just take a nap.

I Love Lucie

Hi there, it's Lucie's momma Hawthorne Girl here and I'm sneaking in to make today's post. Lulu will be so embarrased if she finds out that I'm here talking about her.

Yesterday Lucie took a little tumble that really gave me a scare so last night I was thinking a lot about her and just how much fun it has been having little Lulu to accompany me on our adventures. Oh now don't worry, she's just fine. I think I was more shaken up than she was! But let's just say, if she would have been wearing a harness, she would have been fine but with her collar, it could have been pretty bad had I not been right there. So I immediately went out today to get her a harness which will replace her collar. I urge you to do the same if you have your pets in collars. I think there is just too much risk with them and I won't use one again.

So anyway, back to my gushing about Lulu. Some of you may not know but Lulu came into my life quite spontaneously when my boyfriend was looking for a puppy for his daughter. I got on-line and googled "puppies Portland" and found this really great website called kijiji. It's like Craig's List but with a lot of pet postings. As I scrolled down the list one caught my eye that said free Boston Terrier. I had always wanted a Boston Terrier so I looked at the listing which said that she was 10 months old and had cataracts and that they wanted to find her a good home that would not breed her. Her former family were breeders of Bostons, French Bulldogs and St. Bernards. It seems they were concerned that she would need a little more care than they were equipped to give in such a full household. I began corresponding with her family and drove out to Estacada that weekend to pick her up. Immediately we fell for her. She was so funny and running around with a chewy in her mouth. We brought her home and she adapted so well to everyone, we all just love her to pieces. The pictures above are with our good friends the day after I brought her home. She was an instant part of our family and I'm so thankful that I was the lucky girl that got to bring her home. Her eyes have gotten a little worse and there is nothing that can be done but she's so tough and spunky, she does just fine. I'm confident we will have many more adventures in the future.

Just take good care of your critters and keep an eye on them. They really do need us after all.

And thank you to Lulu's former family for giving me the opportunity to be a doggie momma.

Oh yeah, and yes we found a puppy as well. He's the cutie named Roy that Lulu gets to spend a lot of time with and they love each other so much.

(fyi, I don't recommend chewing up you momma's favorite quilt. it doesn't go over so well).

this was fun

This weekend Roy and I got to go to a soccer game. It was a lot of fun.

I saw this little cart and thought it was cute. Maybe we could make it a restaurant and call it Lucie's Caboose. I like the sound of that.

and I really don't like this!

This saturday night Roy and I were playing and my eye got hurt. Momma says we have to be very careful with my eyes so she made me go to the yucky emergency room to see the doctor. I don't like to go there at all. We had to wait a long time!


A nurse came in and checked on me and wrote some things down.




then we had to wait and wait for the doctor to come to see me. I was so tired I fell asleep in momma's lap.


even daddy was getting tired

finally the doctor came in and put some green stuff in my eye and flashed lights in my eye that were very bright. it made me very nervous but I tried to be good and momma said that I was a very good girl. They gave me some medicine and the doctor said I was OK so I was pretty happy about that. I was so tired, though and fell asleep in the car on the way home. We finally made it home at 2:00 in the morning. We were all a little tired on Sunday.

I'm going to try to be good and not play too rough with Roy because I really don't like to go to the doctor's in the middle of the night!

this makes me happy

This weekend momma took me for a drive out in the country which made me very happy. We found a big field full of flowers and so momma took my picture with some. Aren't they pretty? I like flowers very much but sometimes they make me sneeze!

Mutt Mixer

Last night momma and auntie took me to the Mutt Mixer at the Hotel Monaco. I didn't know what to expect but was so excited when we got there and I saw all these doggies at the party. Isn't this such a pretty room?


I got to meet lots of new dogs. Here is me with a couple new friends.

This is my Auntie, she goes out with me and momma sometimes. I love to go to her house and eat her kittie's food, it's much tastier than mine. She has lots of fun toys I can play with, too.


Momma, I'm getting tired. This socializing is for the dogs!


Even Luna pooped out before the party was over.


This was so much fun and they had lots of treats for us. Afterwords we got to go for a walk and out to dinner. I'm feeling a little tired to day, maybe I'll just take a na.........

this makes me sad

Some days, momma has to go to work and I don't like it. She says that one day she wants a job that I can go with her but for right now, I have to stay home.


Wait mamma, wait. I want to go too!

my brother

This is my brother Willie. I know we don't look alike but that's because we were both adopted. I like to chase him around all day but he goes and jumps on top of the refrigerator and then I can't get him. Sometimes he'll play with me but he's older than me and can be grumpy so when he won't play anymore, I just go chew on something or take a nap. I like to tease him alot, though. When we are tired and going to bed, I'll let him snuggle with me and momma. Don't tell any of the dogs that, though, they'll think I'm going soft!

My Best Friend

This is Roy and he's my best friend. He's still a puppy.


Sometimes while playing, I get pooped out and need a little disco nap.


After my nap, I can play some more. We can get pretty wild when we are playing and our mom and dad gets mad at us but we just get caught up in the moment.
